Bioprocesses for the Biodiesel Production from Waste Oils and Valorization of Glycerol

چکیده

The environmental context causes the use of renewable energy to increase, with aim finding alternatives fossil-based products such as fuels. Biodiesel, an alternative diesel, is now a well-developed solution, and its production from resources makes it perfectly suitable in context. In addition, biodegradable, non-toxic has low greenhouse gas emissions: reduced about 85% compared diesel. However, feedstock used produce biodiesel competes agriculture application chemical reactions not advantageous “green” process. Therefore, this review focuses only on bioprocesses currently taking important place allow high yields, above 90%, very few produced impurities. waste oils feedstock, which accounts for 10% feedstocks biodiesel, avoids competition agriculture. To present complete life-cycle review, second part will focus valorization by-product, glycerol. About glycerol generated during so should be recovered value-added products, always based bioprocesses. This also existing techniques extract purify end, collection CO2 combustion presents steps using “greener” possible processes.

Optimization of Biodiesel Production Process from Restaurant Waste Frying Oils in the Presence of Homogeneous Catalyst

Background and Objective: Because of the importance of the role of energy in the world and nonrenewability of fossil fuels and caused environmental issues by these fuels in recent years, many studies have been conducted to find an appropriate alternative to fossil fuels in different countries of the world. Biofuels such as (biodiesel and bioethanol) have been introduced as one of the most desir...

Biodiesel Production From Rapeseed Oil With Waste Frying Oils

Biodiesel or fatty acids alkyl esters (FAAE) of long chain are an alternative fuel produced by a transesterification process. The potential production of biodiesel from rapeseed oil in Chile is associated to the solution of economic, environmental and social problems. Experiences from other countries have demonstrated that biodiesel prices are higher than diesel, due to the high costs of the ra...

Biodiesel biorefinery: opportunities and challenges for microbial production of fuels and chemicals from glycerol waste

The considerable increase in biodiesel production worldwide in the last 5 years resulted in a stoichiometric increased coproduction of crude glycerol. As an excess of crude glycerol has been produced, its value on market was reduced and it is becoming a "waste-stream" instead of a valuable "coproduct". The development of biorefineries, i.e. production of chemicals and power integrated with conv...

Production of Biodiesel from Different Edible Oils

Different vegetable oil based biodiesel (FAMES) were prepared by alkaline transesterification using refined oils as well as waste frying oil (WFO). Methanol and sodium hydroxide are used as catalyst under similar reaction conditions. To ensure the quality of biodiesel produced, a series of different ASTM Standard tests were carried out. In this context, various testwere done including viscosity...

Renewable hydrogen and carbon nanotubes from biodiesel waste glycerol

In this report, we introduce a novel and commercially viable method to recover renewable hydrogen and carbon nanotubes from waste glycerol produced in the biodiesel process. Gas-phase catalytic reforming converts glycerol to clean hydrogen fuel and by replacing the problematical coke formed on the catalyst with high value carbon nanotubes, added value can be realised. Additional benefits of aro...
